Brad Ummer

Brad is the President of Flipside Media and is in charge of developing real-time, web-based
data collection and analysis software. He has been involved in creating solutions for the
healthcare market for more than two decades. He has experience developing secure
(HIPAA-compliant) software platforms for national organizations as well as motivated start-
ups. Flipside has created unique solutions for a wide array of clients including the University
of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the American Diabetes Association, the American Association
of Diabetes Educators, McKesson Health Solutions, and Special Olympics Pennsylvania. As
president of Flipside Media, Brad has worked to develop the ScoreMD platform, a scalable,
extendable web-based platform for user/patient management, content delivery, and the
collection, management, and reporting of data. ScoreMD is the underlying technology that
powers the ADA’s Chronicle Diabetes and the ADCES’s (formerly AADE’s)AADE7 System.
These systems are used by hundreds of thousands of users, patients, and caregivers across
the country.
After graduation from Duke University, he began an Internet consulting and development
company, DaVinci Web Works, which grew until the formation of Flipside Media. Brad has
experience programming in a variety of environments, including, FORTRAN, HTML,
JavaScript, Perl, PHP, and SQL databases, as well as other graphical and presentation
software including Photoshop and other Adobe tools. He is familiar with UNIX/Linux, Sun,
PC/Windows and Mac systems. He administers cloud-based infrastructure, including Red
Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS servers, DNS servers, and Cicso/Linksys VPN firewalls. As
the project manager for Flipside’s software development, Brad employs the agile
development methodology and utilizes the Atlassian JIRA issue & project tracking software.
